The Missouri Botanical Garden invites applicants for a full-time six-month seasonal internship. This internship is intended for individuals pursuing conservation biology or ecology as a career, and is ideally suited for individuals considering graduate school next year. Interns will work on a variety of field and laboratory related projects with threatened and endangered plants, including demographic monitoring, seed collecting, and controlled laboratory experiments. Approximately 65% of the interns work is conducted out-of-town/overnight in the lower Midwest (Missouri, Arkansas, Kentucky, and Tennessee). Travel expenses associated with field work will be paid for by the Missouri Botanical Garden. The rest of the time will be spent at the Missouri Botanical Garden entering data, processing seed samples, maintaining laboratory experiments, and performing ex situ conservation activities. Qualifications: (1) Completion or progress towards a bachelors degree in biology, ecology, botany, or natural resource management, (2) attention to detail, and (3) ability to work long hours outdoors. Compensation: $1100/month plus travel expenses associated with overnight field work (food and lodging). Housing in St. Louis is not provided.
