Greetings everyone,
Many of you may remember a discussion some months ago on alternative
energy and global change. The thread spawned many tendrils with
subjects ranging from wind, solar, biofuels, and simple, old-
fashioned conservation. More than once in the flurry of exchange,
pleas were made to compile a list summary of ideas, arguments,
warnings and suggestions in written form for publication. I
considered volunteering several times but restrained myself having
more important things, like a job search on my hands.
Since that time several circumstances have led to a drastic life-
changing decision; I'm turning my back on Academia and taking up my
video camera to become a documentary filmmaker. My first project is
on this very topic. I will start filming at the ESA Biofuels
Conference in Washington, DC, on March 10. I would like to record
impromptu discussions with as many of the attendees as possible and
will also be approaching the speakers for more formal interviews.
For those of you who are attending and would like to reiterate your
email statements on film (actually video tape) please reply off list
and we can discuss the details of the project.
See you all in DC!
