Two Positions with Shortgrass Steppe LTER Project in northern Colorado - closing date soon
1) Field Crew Leader for the Shortgrass Steppe Long Term Ecological (SGS-LTER) research program in the Department of Soil and Crop Sciences, Colorado State University, Fort Collins, Colorado. This is a 6 month non-student hourly position from April 7 - October 7, 2008. The person will serve as the field research crew leader, perform various field studies, including flora, faunal, biogeochemical, and atmospheric research, and supervise a crew of 5 - 10 students. 2) Assistant Field Crew Leader for the Shortgrass Steppe Long Term Ecological (SGS-LTER) research program in the Department of Soil and Crop Sciences, Colorado State University, Fort Collins, Colorado. This is a 6 month non-student hourly position from April 7 - October 7, 2008. The person will perform various field studies, including flora, faunal, biogeochemical, and atmospheric research, assist the field research crew leader, and may supervise part of a crew of 5 - 10 students on occasion. EXPERIENCE IN ONE OR MORE OF THE FOLLOWING: * Daubenmire and point-frame methods of plant sampling. * Live-trapping and handling small mammals. * Pitfall trapping for arthropods. * Radio telemetry. * Avian nest surveys. SALARY: Commensurate with training and experience (range $11-17/hr).
