Long-time ESA member Dr. Robert Denno, a Professor in the Entomology Department at the University of Maryland, College Park, suffered a fatal heart attack while in Georgia last weekend doing field research. His research in population and community ecology, particularly on salt marsh insect communities, is internationally known, and he was an excellent and popular teacher, advisor, and colleague. The campus newspaper has a brief article about Bob (http://media.www.diamondbackonline.com/media/storage/paper873/news/2008/03/26/News/Etomologists.Sudden.Death.Stuns.Department-3283872.shtml). A Web site has been created for Bob's friends to share memories and photographs; for information on how to access it, please contact Claudio Gratton: [EMAIL PROTECTED] A Resolution of Respect is being prepared for publication in the Bulletin of the ESA.
