Dear ESA student members, If you are interested in playing a bigger role in student activities at ESA, now is your chance! The Student Section is currently accepting applications for the position of vice chair. The position is a two-year commitment, as the vice chair will become chair of the Student Section the following year. The descriptions of the position, along with the application, are attached to this e-mail. Application materials can also be found on the Student Section website http://www.esa.org/students.
The vice chair application consists of the applicant's name, contact information, a paragraph describing qualifications, and a statement of purpose. The qualifications and statement of purpose can be no more than 150 words each. ***THE DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS IS FRIDAY, JUNE 23rd*** The Student Section will post all of the applications, without names or contact information, on the Student Section website, http://www.esa.org/students. After June 23rd, students will be allowed to vote for the vice chair nominees online. The winner will be announced before the beginning of the ESA Annual Meeting in Milwaukee (August 3rd - 8th). Each applicant will need to be a member of the Student Section. To become a student section member, check the appropriate box on your ESA membership form when you renew your ESA membership (http://eservices.esa.org) or email [EMAIL PROTECTED] Applications should be sent (by June 23rd) electronically to Matthew Whiteside ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) with Student Vice Chair Application in the subject line.
