Dear all, I am a 4th year medical student, with a BA in Biology and a BA in Psychology. I am looking to combine my strong interest in ecology and environmental impact with human medicine (possibly through the fields of infectious disease or environmental health). Although I do not have much research experience beyond assistantships in undergraduate field biology research projects (mostly dealing with birds; some bat and tadpole research), but I am very eager to get started in research. I am specifically interested in the fields of physiological environmental impact on humans (expedition medicine, hyperbaric medicine, disaster medicine, and high altitude) as it relates to increasing recreational use of areas, and the likewise environmental impact on those areas (increased usage of wilderness areas that support threatened species). This also ties directly into my interest in the emerging medicinal and herbal medicines of 3rd world/developing countries and the environmental impact on those species upon the discovery of their medicinal properties by Western civilization for mass-marketing. Any ideas are welcome, including post-doc opportunities. I graduate next June with the degree of Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine. Thank you, Sonja Lynm Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine, Class of 2009 _________________________________________________________________ Discover the new Windows Vista http://search.msn.com/results.aspx?q=windows+vista&mkt=en-US&form=QBRE
