Dear Attendees of the 2008 ESA Annual Meeting: In an effort to increase student involvement in the Society, ESA’s Agroecology Section is pleased to announce that it will be providing awards for the best student-presented posters at this year’s 93rd Annual Meeting of the Ecological Society of America in Milwaukee, WI.
Poster awards will include: 1st place- $250.00 2nd place- $150.00 3rd place- $100.00 Honorable mention - $50.00 Eligibility: 1. The poster must report original agroecological research which has been accepted for presentation at the ESA annual meeting. 2. Leading author should be enrolled as a graduate or undergraduate student at the time of the application. 3. At least one author of the poster should be a member of the Agroecology Section Application Process: Send an email (with the subject line “Agroecology Poster Award”) to the Poster Award Chair (Richard Smith, [EMAIL PROTECTED]) stating that (a) you are a member of the Agroecology Section and (b) your poster abstract has been accepted for presentation at the annual meeting. Please attach your abstract to the email. The abstract should include the poster title and all co-authors. Please also indicate the date and time that your poster is scheduled for presentation. Applications must be received by July 25, 2008. Posters will be viewed and judged by an awards panel at the meeting. Winners will be notified shortly after the meeting. In addition to the monetary award, titles and abstracts of the winning posters will be displayed on the Agroecology Section website (http://www.esa.org/agroecology).
