Job Description

ENVIRON is seeking qualified and experienced Aquatic and Terrestrial
Ecologists and Ecological Risk Assessment professionals to join the firm
throughout North America and Europe. Successful candidates will join the
firm's growing international team providing Natural Resource, Ecology
and Sediment Management services to clients worldwide.

Required Skills

Successful candidates will be expected to complete the following duties
and responsibilities: 

*       Effective communication with internal project team members and
external client representatives, stakeholders, and regulatory
authorities 
*       Ability to prepare and complete written work products, including
reports for technical and non-technical audiences 
*       Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary project teams in
local and remote offices 


Successful candidates also will be expected to be knowledgeable in
several technical and regulatory areas, including: 

*       Understanding of U.S. federal environmental review and
permitting process under the Endangered Species Act (ESA), Clean Water
Act (CWA), and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) 
*       Understanding of federal and provincial environmental
regulations in Canada 
*       Understanding of emerging environmental directives in the
European Union, and regulatory requirements in one or more Member States

*       Familiarity with U.S. CERCLA, RCRA, and water quality
regulations, as well as similar regulations in Canada and in Europe 
*       Habitat assessment and species inventory experience; experience
with threatened and endangered species 
*       Understanding of state-of-science assessment methods and
predictive models in the fields of ecology, ecotoxicology, or population
ecology 
*       Design and implementation of biota and ecological sampling and
monitoring 
*       Experience with habitat restoration and monitoring; experience
with habitat valuation and assessment in a Natural Resource Damage
Assessment context

Required Experience

Successful candidates are expected to have: 

*       MS or PhD degree in Ecology, Ecotoxicology, Chemical Engineering
or related environmental discipline 
*       Specialization in terrestrial ecology, wildlife ecology, aquatic
ecology, applied ecotoxicology, or related discipline 
*       3+ years progressive experience / expertise completing ecology
studies, ecological risk assessments, or environmental impact
assessments; participation in contaminated land and sediment cleanup
projects 
*       Strong ability in statistics and data analysis 
*       Strong technical and professional writing skills 
*       Knowledge of terrestrial and aquatic restoration principles and
approaches; familiarity or experience with Natural Resource Damage
Assessments 
*       Ability to complete 40-hour HAZWOPER training
