The NSF Ridge 2000 Distinguished Lecturer Series brings recent mid-ocean
ridge research to colleges and universities, concentrating on those
without existing ocean-science programs. The goal is to share Ridge 2000
research with audiences unfamiliar with this type of research, and to
attract future students into ocean sciences programs. Lecturers deliver
exciting presentations on mid-ocean ridge research to undergraduate and
graduate-level audiences, as well as to general public audiences.
Applications for host institutions for the 2008-2009 speakers are now
being accepted. For more information about the series, including the
application process, please visit
http://www.ridge2000.org/dls/index.php. Applications will be accepted
from all US colleges, universities, and informal science centers.
