This is a MAJOR question that comes up across the country and at many
different levels. Some of these specimens which are not going to be used, and
most likely should not be used are sitting in stock rooms everywhere. There
could be other lists aside from Ecolog-l?, and I have copied this to others.

Can you help with this very important question?

Please copy to Rich Phillips at: [EMAIL PROTECTED] and also to me for my files:

I would also like it for my files. Putting these buckets in the local dumpster
is probably not the best answer.

Thank you.

**We have about six 5-gal pails of OLD dissection specimens (still whole),
including tree frogs, perch, and pig embryos. The specimens seem
well-preserved, so I presume that the liquid in the pails is some special
fluid. I have been led to believe that special, costly disposal is required.
Our school has NO experience in this.
It seems to me that post-dissection disposal is a common "problem" for many
schools. Could someone advise me of your experience/understanding of any
prescribed procedures?
Please answer off-list as I am on Chembond, Ophun-L, and Esprit, but not
