Whittier College invites applications for a tenure track
position at the rank of Assistant Professor with a joint appointment in
Biology and Environmental Science/Studies, an interdisciplinary major.
Applicants need a PhD, specializing in Biology, Zoology, Ecology or
Environmental Science with an emphasis on animals and global change. 
                
                The ideal candidate will be comfortable teaching
introductory environmental science and biology courses as well as
upper-division courses in their field of expertise. He/she is also
expected to participate in our Liberal Education Program, such as
teaching First-year Writing Seminar, courses in quantitative literacy,
"paired" courses, and/or science and society courses.  In addition to
teaching, the successful candidate will be expected to remain an active
scholar in their field of expertise and involve undergraduates in their
research program.
                
                Whittier College is a small private liberal arts college
located 18 miles southeast of Los Angeles, with a highly diverse student
