Three funded graduate student positions (M.S.) will be available starting in the winter semester of 2009, and summer of 2009, for those with research interests in stream or riparian ecology. Students will have considerable control over the direction of their research, but applicants with interests in the following areas are particularly encouraged to apply: invasive species; restoration monitoring; urban-stream ecology; ecological effects of salmon on streams; and effects of exotic invasive earthworms. Research will be largely field-based with potential research sites located in Michigan and Alaska. With satisfactory progress the M.S. students will have the opportunity to pursue a Ph.D.. Interested applicants should email a CV and cover letter (as PDFs) to Scott Tiegs ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) before October 31st, or visit the following website to learn more. https://files.oakland.edu/users/tiegs/website_tiegs.htm
