Hello all of you out there that instruct undergraduate environmental science courses. I instruct a junior level course at the University of Florida, and I have started a yahoo group (Globalizing_Environmental_Science) for the undergraduate students to use as a discussion board. My hope if that I will find instructors at other universities interested in having their students join the group. Ideally I will post something for discussion every 2 weeks or so (depending on how well a thread is going) relating to current topics. The idea is for students to realize there is a MUCH bigger world out there than UF, Gainesville, Florida, and the US. 85% of the students enrolled in my course are Floridians, and I am hoping this list may help broaden their horizons. I will use their interactions/posts as a part of their participation grade. If you are interested please contact me or look up our list on Yahoo Groups (Globalizing_Environmental_Science). I teach this course on both fall and spring. I look forward to hearing from some of you!
