The Washington State Dept. of Natural Resources' Natural Areas Program, in collaboration with the Northwest Service Academy, has a position available for a Mapping and Restoration Intern.
The Mapping and Restoration Intern will conduct baseline mapping for the 13 Natural Area Preserves and 2 Natural Resource Conservation Areas in the Southeast Region of Washington State. The intern will use GPS and GIS techniques to map rare species, vegetation communities and invasive species infestations. The Mapping and Restoration Intern will also assist with the implementation of habitat restoration, invasive species control and ecological monitoring, as well as with education and public outreach activities.
