I've been nothing but disappointed with my local reps. Emails and letters
do nothing in as far as I have tried. It may have to do with my question
and the fact that Carlisle, PA is controlled on most levels by
republicans.

Basically, PA has no state regulatory body for managing invertebrates
unless they are aquatic. At this point they would fall under jurisdiction
of the PA Fish and Boat Commission which is separate from our DCNR. I
think that PA is one of the only states to be organized like this if not
the ONLY state.

Anyway, my question basically asked how to start setting up the frame work
so that PA could have a regulatory body for terrestrial inverts. I made
sure to include my concerns such as threatened/endangered/rare species,
habitats, land development and conversion, as well as ways to support such
an agency. I sent him (Gabig-R) emails and letters (hand written even!)
but got 0 responses. My next step is to visit his office and to send
something to Gov. Rendell-D.

I was hoping to get some sort of response even if it was not the one I
wanted. Can't say I'm too shocked since, at least around here, if you
can't tie conservation with making $$$ then there's a real good chance it
may fall to the wayside.

END OF RANT. Thanks for creating the topic.
