The Department of Biology, University of Central Florida offers one competitive two-year assistantship in mathematical ecology to a full time graduate student to help defray the cost of tuition and provide a summer stipend. The successful applicant will also be considered separately for a teaching assistantship from the Department for the fall and spring semesters. Successful candidates should (1) be accepted into the UCF Masters degree program in Biology for fall semester 2009, (2) be interested in conducting spatial population modeling of Florida scrub plants and related field work; and (3) have a strong background in mathematics and computer simulation.
