I am recruiting graduate students to join my lab who are interested in how
evolutionary processes operate in natural environments. Ideal candidates
will have research goals that include some mixture of ecology, evolution and
genetics. Students working with me are expected to develop their own
research projects that integrate with the overall themes of the lab.
Currently, these themes include adaptive divergence, ecological speciation,
consumer-resource interactions, population connectedness, life history
evolution (particularly aging), and the molecular/regulatory basis of
adaptation. Our lab uses Daphnia as a model system, and employs fieldwork,
laboratory experiments, quantitative genetics and emerging tools in
ecological genomics. Additional details on current projects can be found at
http://www.biol.sc.edu/faculty/dudycha.html. Year-round support (including
health benefits & tuition) is provided through a mixture of teaching and
research assistantships. Interested individuals should contact me via email
(dudycha [at] biol.sc.edu) to discuss their background and research interests.
