VISITING ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF ENVIRONMENTAL STUDIES Center for Environmental Studies, Brown University
The Center for Environmental Studies at Brown University invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor of Environmental Studies for a three-year, non-tenure track, non-renewable position, starting July 1, 2009. We especially seek a candidate who has expertise in teaching in one of the following areas: food and agriculture, energy and transportation, and natural resources (especially water). Depending on the candidates qualifications, they may be asked to teach the introductory environmental studies course and/or introductory environmental science course; experience in one or both of those courses will be a helpful addition to the candidates qualifications. The course load is three courses per year, and the position entails supervising 5-7 senior theses and MA theses. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in a relevant discipline, at time of commencing work.
