The University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science (UMCES), Chesapeake Biological Laboratory, seeks a PhD level postdoctoral Assistant Research Scientist to participate in an NSF-funded project; this project investigates the effects of land-use change and climate on organic transformations of carbon, nitrogen, and phosphorus in streams and implications for Chesapeake Bay. The postdoctoral researcher will work closely with Dr. Sujay Kaushal and collaborate with Dr. Peter Groffman (Cary Institute of Ecosystem Studies), Dr. Stuart Findlay (Cary Institute of Ecosystem Studies), and Dr. Mark Walbridge (U.S. Department of Agriculture).
Preference will be given to candidates with strong analytical skills in any of the following: stable isotope biogeochemistry, organic matter characterization, stream tracer studies, and/or ecosystem modeling.
