I am in the initial planning stages of my Master's thesis research looking into occupancy rates of warblers using digital sound recording devices (Wildlife Acoustics Inc. "SM1 Song Meters). The aims of this study are to use these units to aid in monitoring to improve current survey techniques. I would really like to speak with seasoned users of digital sound recording units. I have a number of questions such as the best methods for tree attachment, battery type, and data transfer (i.e. laptop in the field or swapping memory cards?) Have you had specific issues with the recognition software? Thank you very much.
