Research Associate II/Special Computer Programmer Natural Resource Ecology Laboratory
The Natural Resource Ecology Laboratory (NREL) at Colorado State University is seeking a programmer to develop modeling and classification software as part of projects to develop greenhouse gas decision support systems. The position requires a B.A. or B.S. in computer science, software engineering, or related fields, or equivalent experience. A minimum of 2 years of experience designing computer software and programming utilizing .NET environment is required. Additional experience is required in managing databases and/or writing SQL. Good written and verbal communication skills are necessary. Experience working on multiple projects in a team environment is desirable. Experience with extreme programming, UML, MySQL database administration and GIS software is desired. Previous experience working in natural resources applications is desirable. Position is for 12 months, with potential continuation, contingent upon available funding. Salary level is $50-60K per year + benefits, depending upon experience.
