POSITION DUTIES: The Department of Natural Resources, Chesapeake and
Coastal
Watershed Services, is currently accepting applications for a full-
time long-term contractual
Environmental Specialist III. This position is based in Annapolis, MD
and is responsible for
assisting the Chesapeake Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve (the
Reserve) by facilitating
and promoting the integration of research, education, training,
management, and restoration
activities around priority resource issues at the Reserve components
and their surrounding
watersheds. As such, the Stewardship Coordinator plans, develops, and
implements natural
resource protection and restoration, land conservation, and volunteer
projects and associated
outreach activities and trainings for the Reserve in cooperation with
the other team members
and community partners. Travel and field work are required activities
of this position. The
Reserve is one in a network of 27 reserves around the U.S. and its
territories that make up the
National Estuarine Research Reserve System.
MINIMUM AND SELECTIVE EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
(You must meet both the minimum and selective qualifications to be
considered
for this position)
Education: Possession of a bachelor's degree from an accredited four-
year college or
university.
Experience: Four (4) years of professional experience in research,
analysis and evaluation
of natural and human ecological or environmental resources.
Selective Experience: One GIS training/education course or 6 months
professional
experience with GIS
