The International Society for Ecological Modelling is pleased to announce the ISEM 2009 Conference, to be held in Quebec City, Canada, from October 6 - 9, 2009. The site of the conference will be on the campus of the Laval University. The theme for the conference is "Ecological Models for Enhanced Sustainability in Management". In addition to workshops, there will be opportunites for oral presentations,as well as poster sessions. The organizing committee welcomes the submission of ideas for workshops on topics related to ecological modelling. The deadline for submissions is May 1, 2009. In conjunction with ISEM 2009, The International Society for Ecological Modelling is pleased to announce: The Best Young Researcher Paper Prize. The winner will receive travel, registration, and expenses (up to $1000) to attend the ISEM 2009 Meeting in Quebec City. In addition, the winning individual will be awarded a plenary speaking slot to present his or her paper at the meeting. Eligibility: Any author, 39 years of age, or younger, who has published a paper in Ecological Modelling in 2008, or had a paper accepted before the deadline, is eligible. Deadline: Papers must be received by March 31, 2009, to be considered for the prize.
