Fish & Wildlife Biologist II 
Agency: Nebraska Game and Parks Commission 

Location: Beatrice, Nebraska 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES: 
Under direction of District Program Manager coordinate and implement all 
habitat improvement and public access program offerings at the district 
level (e.g. Wild Nebraska, Wetland Initiative Program, CRP-Management 
Access Program and other focused habitat initiatives). Activities include: 
Site assessment, habitat planning, contract coordination and reporting. 
Provide technical assistance of wildlife habitat 
enhancement techniques to private landowners and public organizations. 
Supervise temporary employees to accomplish agency and district goals and 
objectives. Assist with activities and projects within the division as 
assigned. Work closely with other conservation agencies such as Natural 
Resource Conservation Service and Natural Resource Districts to train and 
assist staff with conservation planning and project design of benefit to 
wildlife. Assist with creation and enhancement of partnerships with other 
government and non-government 
agencies/organizations.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 
Extensive knowledge of wildlife habitat management 
principles, goals and objectives, wildlife species; life history and 
habitat needs, research, statistics, budgeting processes and conservation 
statutes and regulations as they relate to wildlife, as well as a working 
knowledge of current management philosophies, such as the conservation of 
biological diversity, landscape ecology and 
adaptive management. Ability to communicate effectively, set goals and 
objectives, perform heavy physical labor and work outdoors for long periods 
of time; operate and maintain hand and power tools including chain saws, 
tractors and trucks; work with little supervision, supervise and direct the 
work of others and develop and maintain professional relations with a broad 
range of agencies and publics. Drivers license required. Working knowledge 
of Windows Desktop Systems and Microsoft Office Suite desired. 
REQUIREMENTS: A Bachelors Degree in Wildlife Management or Natural 
Resources or related field plus two 
years wildlife management experience. 

Salary:  $18.369/Hr.
