CONS 420 Human-Wildlife Conflict Thursdays from July 9 - August 6, 2009; 9:30 am-5:30 pm Located at the Smithsonian Conservation & Research Center, Front Royal, Virginia Human-wildlife conflict (HWC) is of growing concern to many conservation biologists. This class will give students an understanding of the impact of HWC on conservation efforts and human health and well-being.Through participation in solo, small group and class work, as well as lectures, discussions and readings, students will enhance their understanding of the complexities of HWC and conservation biology and leave with a strong foundation in the tools needed to effectively deal with HWC.
