Dear Ecologgers, This summer I will begin a research project in the Maya Mountains of Belize, Central America. This will require me to spend extended periods of time away from any sort of outside communication. Throughout this study I will require some sort of satellite internet connection. Some sat- phone companies offer a data kit (9.6Kps; very slow, really for text email only). BGAN has a small dish the size of a small laptop that could easily be carried around in the 'bush'. However, unlike stationary satellite services, this portable internet service is outrageously expensive. My question is, does anyone use or know of a portable satellite internet set up/service that is reasonably priced? Thanks in advance for the info.
