Hi -
I am wondering if anyone studying Peromyscus in the Northeast noticed an unusual population collapse last fall. I have been live-trapping P. leucopus in a maple woodlot here in Brockport (western New York) since 1993; the usual pattern is a low spring population, followed by an increase over the summer and into the early fall. In September, 2008, though, my study population almost completely disappeared. I caught no adults, and my only captures were a few male subadults. Any thoughts on this situation, or similar observations, would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Chris Norment
