Hi All:

I need a field computer that would be capable of running several programs
associated with numerous pieces of field equipment including water velocity
meters, met stations, YSI sondes, gas analyzers, etc. Some of the rugged small
hand-helds are limited by the number of programs they are capable of running.
The tough-books get very pricey. Question is "is it worth the expense of
purchasing the tough-book, or multiple hand-helds, or a mini-computer in a
pelican case"? The unit will be transported and used from a kayak. Any
suggestions, especially from people with experience with the tough-books is
welcome. Thanks in advance.
