Title: Senior Wildlife Biologist
Natural Resources Department
Summary
Responsible for the development, implementation, and management of the
Wildlife Program
for the Natural Resource Department. The position will be responsible
for Wildlife grants
management and implementation as well as program development. This
position will manage
staff and coordinate efforts within the Inland Wildlife Program. This
position will be the lead in
extensive wildlife fieldwork, technical report writing, data analysis,
creating management
recommendations, interagency collaborations and will be a lead contact
for Consent Decree
implementation and consultation, as well as, other treaty rights issues.
Required Knowledge & Certification:
Bachelors Degree in Biology, Wildlife, or related field
4 years supervisory/managerial experience in specific field
Minimum 5 years field experience
Knowledge of Tribal natural resource issues
Experience in wildlife management
Demonstrated knowledge of wildlife management, wildlife survey
techniques, and
experimental design, statistical analysis, with technical writing
Background in Geographic Information Systems
Grant management, implementation, and budgeting
Valid drivers license throughout employment as needed
Preferred:
Ph. D and 3 years specific field experience in Wildlife resource
management or related
field
Active member in Community/Statewide/Federal/Tribal professional
memberships
Position specific certifications

Strong computer skills with experience in word processing,
databases, spreadsheets, and
statistical programs
Taxonomic identification skills of regional flora and fauna
Experience in team leadership and coordination of workgroups
Strong project management skills
Strong organizational skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills

Accurate and detail oriented
Strong problem solving skills
Required Abilities:
Must be able to manage and schedule employees and facilitate dispute
resolution
Must be able to manage departmental budget and control labor and
expenses

Ability to independently manage multiple tasks in professional manner
Ability to maintain a professional demeanor
Salary: This is a Level 6 position ($43,347 - $69,826); Exempt –
Salary– Weekly pay
