I am looking for software (to run on PC) that can aid in the analysis of video
files. I have several hundred hours of HD video (captured on a Sony Handycam
that records to *.m2ts files) of display areas of the bird I am studying. I can
convert the files to mpg with some loss of quality. During most of the videos,
nothing happens. Sporadically, birds fly into view (often silently and very
briefly). I want to record the behaviors during those brief periods. I am
hoping to find software that can scan the videos and “flag” the movement of
incoming birds so that observers can simply check the few min/hr when something
is actually happening instead of sitting through hours of nothing and possibly
get distracted and inattentive. Thanks very much.
