An M.S. assistantship in forest entomology is available at the State University of New York, Environmental and Forest Science in Syracuse NY. The proposed research involves deploying and monitoring sentinel logs for evidence of parasitism by native parasitoids of Sirex noctilio larvae, the invasive European wood wasp, in stands with low vs high densities of S. noctilio as well as documenting stand variables associated with S. noctilio densities and parasitism rates.
