Mr/Dr. Conklin seems to be gleeful in trumpeting that the recent estimate of sea level rise from a destabilized West Antarctic ice sheet would be a mere 3.4 meters (plus 0.4 meters along the North American coasts) instead of 6 or 7 meters. ( Science 15 May 2009: Vol. 324. no. 5929, pp. 888 - 889)
Still sounds bad to me, and to most people along the coast. Owen Sholes Owen Sholes Associate Professor of Biology Department of Natural Sciences Assumption College 500 Salisbury Street Worcester, MA 01609 508-767-7483 [email protected] ( Science 15 May 2009: Vol. 324. no. 5929, pp. 888 - 889)
