If you need a small MODIS subset I found the following tool very handy: http://daac.ornl.gov/cgi-bin/MODIS/GLBVIZ_1_Glb/modis_subset_order_global_col5.pl The data are delivered in either GeoTIFF or ASCII format. Kirsten
