I am looking for some advice on rain gauges. I would like to get a rain gauge for each of 14 sites located in the tropical islands of Guam and the Northern Marianas. We visit each site about once a month, so I'd like the gauges to hold about 25 inches (the max monthly rainfall is usually 10-15 inches, but many months in the wet season can be closer to 25 inches). And since I'm buying 14 of them, I'd like to spend less than $80 per gauge. I can't seem to find anything that fits these specifications online- any suggestions from this crowd? Some alternatives I have considered are to build my own or to buy smaller gauges and check them more frequently. Do any of you have experience with or designs for building your own?
