Dear ESA Conference attendees, due to a series of unfortunate events, two pieces of original art that were shown at the ESA Student booth are missing (most likely occurred on Thursday night). The pieces are both 3-4 foot by 7-8 foot fabric batik/beeswax based paintings on cloth, one of a white Madagascar orchid and a hawkmoth, the other of a squid. Please, please, if you have the art please return it, either directly to me or via the lost and found at the conference space. The art means a lot to me, the pieces took a great deal of time to create and are a personal documentation of my research and my appreciation of the natural world.
Sincerely crossing my fingers, Melissa Whitman (360)820-0905 Pictures of the art can be found at http://islandevolution.blogspot.com/
