Dear all: Do you have any recommendations for post-secondary institutions with research programs that are strong in plant ecology? Or even post-secondary institutions with Botany departments that have a fair share of plant ecologists?
My long term goal is to be plant ecologist employed at a post-secondary institution. I am interested in projects that involve plant conservation, landscape ecology, and ecological management. I hope to integrate theory and practice as much as possible, i.e. do field work and computer modeling. At this point I will not narrow myself-- I am currently a graduate student-- but I especially like plant community ecology (yet, I am willing to be flexible, and I could spread out to plant-animal interactions, population research, etc. if necessary). Each year, I add new bricks and mortar to my long term goal's wall. The reason for this general email, is to gather some ideas to help with the planning of this goal. Thank you, Laura
