The Research Center on Ecosystems and Global Change Carbono & Bosques C&B is 
looking for an 
intern to work on the project “Rapid estimation of biomass equations using 
Bayesian statistical 
inference”. C&B is a non-for-profit organization working on different aspects 
of global change 
research and the emerging carbon markets for forest conservation. For more

The intern will perform the following tasks:

•       Perform a literature review on tree biomass equations.
•       Update and review an existing database on biomass equations.
•       Perform exploratory statistical analyses such as correlation and 
regression.

Basic knowledge on statistics is desired but not previous experience with 
Bayesian statistics. Basic 
computer skills are required. The intern must be enrolled in a higher education 
institution, 
preferably in a natural sciences program. Fluency in Spanish is desired but not 
required.

This internship is for four months and a housing allowance is provided to the 
intern. The stipend 
is $500.000 Colombian Pesos (~ US$250) per month. The position will be based in 
Medellín, a 
modern and vibrant city in the Northwest of Colombia.
