Good day!
I am currently trying to get a foot in the job market as a recent biology
graduate from Mesa State College in Colorado. I am seeking a job or any advice
for finding a job in biology/ecology fields. I graduated with a BS in general
biology with a 3.8 GPA. I am highly interested in desert ecology, wildlife
management, research, monitoring jobs in the field, teaching, backpacking, etc.
and prefer the outdoors to a desk but am highly motivated to find any work that
is aligned with my talents, education, and previous experience.
Some courses and experiences:
* Undergrad Thesis: Big Cat Behaviors across Continents
* Desert Ecology
* Limnology
* Epidemiology
* Endocrinology
* Embryology
* Water Sampling in the Colorado River and Grand Mesa Lakes
* Scat and Track ID of desert fauna
* Colorado Fish and other aquatic organism identification
* Grass and plant identification
I also have some field experience in Southern Africa (Chipangali Wildlife
Orphanage, Zimbabwe)
* Responsible for the daily care of wildlife in a nursery setting
including feeding, administering meds, hand-rearing infants
* Game and waterfowl counting in Hwange and Matopos Nat'l. Parks
* Tracking cheetah and leopard using telemetry equipment
* Plant identification for a study concerning rhino diet and metabolism
disorders
I am looking forward to hearing from anyone interested in hiring a
self-motivated, intelligent, quick learner or anyone that has some good ideas
to share. Thank you so much for your time and attention!
Best Regards,
Elise Mitchell
