I received the following message about Nature Conservation in Germany which
covers points that may be of interest to list members concerned with
conservation, and especially with biodiversity. Although the focus is the
German environment, I think that much of it could be applied elsewhere. The

German economists and ecologists signed and published a Memorandum on
"Economics for Nature Conservation" to call on policymakers to make more
use of economic principles and instruments in conservation policies.
