Ph.D. fellowship opportunity for an independent and self-motivated student
to research ungulate ecology in Africa as a member of the Graduate Program
in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at Dartmouth College. Using computer
assisted photographic mark-recapture methods we are studying the population
dynamics of wildebeest, zebra, and giraffe in northern Tanzania.  We are
seeking applicants with demonstrated ability to work independently in a
developing country.  An M.S. degree, previous experience in Africa and
knowledge of Swahili are desirable but not required.  

The successful applicant will receive generous fellowship support, health
insurance, and a yearly discretionary fund for research and travel that are
