We are hiring a Biological Science Technician to assist with ongoing projects at the Institute of Pacific Islands Forestry, a research office of the USDA Forest Service (Pacific Southwest Research Station) located in Hilo, HI. The position is at the GS-7 level and will be for one year with a possibility of a second year depending on available funding. The technician will assist with research on the ecology and restoration of tropical dry ecosystems on the island of Hawaii.
Qualifications for a GS-7 level position include a Master's degree in a relevant discipline or the equivalent amount of educational and/or professional experience. Ideal candidates will have experience supervising field research, maintaining large datasets, analyzing data with statistical programs, and operating specialized technical equipment in the field and laboratory.
