We are hiring a Biological Science Technician to assist with ongoing
projects at the Institute of Pacific Islands Forestry, a research office of
the USDA Forest Service (Pacific Southwest Research Station) located in
Hilo, HI. The position is at the GS-7 level and will be for one year with a
possibility of a second year depending on available funding. The technician
will assist with research on the ecology and restoration of tropical dry
ecosystems on the island of Hawaii. 

Qualifications for a GS-7 level position include a Master's degree in a
relevant discipline or the equivalent amount of educational and/or
professional experience. Ideal candidates will have experience supervising
field research, maintaining large datasets, analyzing data with statistical
programs, and operating specialized technical equipment in the field and
laboratory. Applicants must be US citizens or nationals.

**Previous field research experience in Hawaii is a required qualification
for this position.**
