Dear Ecologgers,
I'm preparing a seminar series comparing what it is like to be an
ecologist / scientist in the traditional large University system to
alternatives such as small colleges, NGOs and different federal and
state agencies. I'm going to try to point out some of the different
types of trade-offs associated with these different career venues (e.g.
teaching, research, salary, academic freedom, etc) and am looking for
materials on the topic. SICB has done some panels on this topic at some
of their meetings which I thought were excellent. I'd love to hear from
you if you have articles on some aspect of this subject, or if you have
any personal perspectives you'd like to share. Thank you ahead of time
for your help and input!
