Duties: The incumbent serves as a Partners for Fish and Wildlife program habitat restoration project manager. The position involves participation in all aspects of this program, including making initial landowner contacts and inspections, project planning and design, securing permits and funding, writing and submitting landowner agreements, and actual project construction. Emphasis for the program will be on projects that benefit threatened and endangered species, other native species and their habitat, National Wildlife Refuges, and other regional restoration priorities. The incumbent is responsible for planning and implementing a wide variety of on-the-ground habitat improvement projects, working with volunteers, sub-contractors and cooperating agency staff. Attends meetings and public hearings to discuss proposed or existing ongoing habitat restoration projects on private lands. Prepares correspondence pertaining to the technical aspects of the work.
