The Department of Geography and Planning at the University at Albany invites applications for a one-year VISITING ASSISTANT PROFESSOR position for the 2010-11 academic year. The successful candidate will teach three courses per semester, including remote sensing at both an introductory and an advanced level; an introductory physical geography course; and at least one GIS course. Although this is primarily a teaching position, the successful candidate is expected to participate fully in the life of the department by attending meetings and serving on committees. Candidates must have, or be very near completion of, a PhD in Geography from a university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization. Preference will be given to those with expertise in remote sensing, GIS and the physical environment. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
