A postdoctoral research position is available immediately to study the molecular mechanisms and metabolic processes controlling the fungal decay of plant detritus and the formation of soil organic matter.
Candidates must have a Ph.D. in microbial ecology, soil microbiology, biogeochemistry or closely related field. Experience with molecular approaches to investigate gene expression and community composition is required, and familiarity with soil C and N dynamics is desired. The initial appointment period will be for 1 year with the potential of renewal for an additional two years.
