Duties will include, collecting native seed, monitoring federally listed
rare plant populations as well as Bureau of Land Management sensitive plant
species, removing weeds from rare plant habitats and researching various
aspects of rare plant populations. 
The BLM Vernal Field Office is located in the northeast corner of Utah, 30
minutes from Western Colorado and 1 hour from Southern Wyoming.  It is a
high desert climate with warm summers and cold winters.  Vernal is somewhat
isolated, but has incredible recreational opportunities, from wilderness
areas up on the forest, Dinosaur National Monument, and the Green River.
Frequent time will be spent kayaking the Green River through Class III
rapids, removing weeds within Ute ladies tresses habitat (federally
threatened orchid). 
Interested individuals should have a desire for working with plants,
spending long hours in the sun, be physically fit, and have a sense of
adventure.
