I collect phenological data that are then stored in an Excel spreadsheet. But if I want to archive the data in someplace like Ecological Archives, I can't do that in a proprietary format, just plain ASCII text. A previous spreadsheet program I used to use (now extinct) had an option for exporting to a text file and listing for each cell the formula in the cell, if there was one, rather than the result of the formula, which is all I seem to be able to get Excel to do. But there is information in the formula (the frequency distribution of flowers per inflorescence) that would be lost without the formula. Do you know of a way to export the Excel formula? Or another program that would do that? Thanks.
