Dear ECOLOGers,

My name is Pedro Lara Almuedo. I would like to bring to your attention the
following recent extension products and services that FORREX-Forum for Research
and Extension in Natural Resources (a non-for-profit extension agency based out
of British Columbia, Canada) has delivered on ecosystem management and
conservation biology-related topics:

Conservation Biology e-Newsletter (ConservExt): stay tuned on publications,
initiatives, news and events of interest by simply subscribing to this free
monthly distribution list. You can check out our June 2010 issue
(http://listserv.forrex.org/scripts/wa.exe?A2=ind1006&L=CONSERVEXT&F=&S=&P=714)
or subscribe by visiting our mailing lists website
(http://www.forrex.org/tools/mailinglists.asp), clicking on "ConservExt", and
sending the email that will automatically open for you.

Wildlife Habitat Decision Aids (WHDAs): we have recently published two new
WHDAs for fisher (Martes pennanti) and American badger (Taxidea taxus) and are
in the process of producing three additional ones for moose (Alces alces) and
northern and mountain caribou (Rangifer tarandus caribou). Check out our WHDA
website (http://www.forrex.org/tools/sedas/#WHDA) to download these and other
decision support tools produced by FORREX.

innovative approaches to sustainable ecosystem management, and provides a forum
for commentary on current issues and challenges. JEM is freely available to the
public via the JEM website
(http://www.forrex.org/publications/jem/jem.asp?issue=51). Have a look at our
most recent issue, search our archives, or sign up for the free JEM

Marbled Murrelet webmodule: this online tool
(http://www.forrex.org/marbledmurrelet/) supports the use and interpretation of
air photo and aerial survey habitat quality classifications applied to Marbled
Murrelet nesting habitat.

Webinar series "Managing Human-Wildlife Conflicts in Increasingly
Human-Dominated Landscapes": In our most recent webinar series, experts
discussed how landscape modifications and predator-prey dynamics affect
human-wildlife interactions, and suggested management practices that will
promote the sustainable coexistence of viable wildlife populations and human
communities. Access the presentations and recordings of the webinars here
(http://www.forrex.org/program/con_bio/managing_human_wildlife_conflicts.asp?AreaPkey=17).
