Job Description The School of Biology at the University of St Andrews is one of 
the leading departments of Biology in the UK. To fully embrace our diversity, 
we offer several different degree programmes, including Biochemistry, Cell 
Biology, Ecology & Conservation and Marine Biology as well as general Biology, 
and additional joint degree options.  
We are now seeking to appoint a fixed-term Lecturer to provide undergraduate 
and graduate teaching in the areas of Biodiversity and Conservation and 
contribute to degree programmes within the School of Biology. You will prepare 
and deliver lectures, practical classes and tutorials in modules in the areas 
of Biodiversity and Conservation, as well as co-ordinating the overall delivery 
of a variety of modules. You will also possess a strong research background and 
publications in Biodiversity, Ecology and Conservation and be willing to 
conduct cutting-edge independent research as well as collaborating with 
colleagues in Evolutionary and Marine Biology, CREEM (Centre for Research into 
Ecological and Environmental Modelling) and Geosciences. 
You will have a degree in biological sciences and will hold a PhD in 
Biodiversity, Conservation, Ecology or a related field.  Experience of 
lecturing, tutoring and assessment at undergraduate or postgraduate in 
Biodiversity, Conservation, Ecology or a related field and a track record of 
research publications would be advantageous.  
This is a temporary post until 2015 with an anticipated start date of September 
2010 or as soon as possible thereafter.
