CAnMove symposium – Genetics of Migration Centre for Animal Movement, Lund University, 6th December 2010
The aim of this symposium is to provide a plenum for scientists to present key studies and state-of-the-art insight into the field of migration covering different taxa and using various approaches. We want to provide a platform to merge and discuss the current state of the field of genetics of migration and identify future directions and methodological approaches to be focused upon. The symposium will be centred on a backbone of six talks presenting case studies across a variety of taxa, and introducing different methodological approaches. We will close the symposium with a plenary discussion to synthesise future directions, methodological approaches, and assess possibilities and pitfalls thereof. With this symposium we hope to encourage dialogue and the exchange of ideas, and to foster collaboration and promote debate. Registration: Attendance of the symposium is free, if you want to attend, please register here (online registration). The deadline for applications is October 22nd. There will be no talks other than those listed on the programme, but we welcome poster presentations. We especially encourage Ph.D. students to present and discuss their work here. Please provide us with a poster title during the application process. Please find further information about accommodation and transportation to Lund here.
